3LAU: "I cannot express enough that @Avicii revolutionized dance music, and effortlessly". Jacobson, who has worked with Avicii since his first hit record "Levels" was released, said he spoke with the Swedish DJ just two days prior to his death.
Avicii's ex-girlfriend has posted an emotional tribute to the late producer on Instagram, following his shock death at the age of just 28.
Avicii's sudden death rocked the music industry, leading many to wonder what ended the DJ and producer's life so suddenly.
"It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii", read the statement.
"'Come on babe, don't give up on us".
Before he was a Grammy-nominated electronic artist, Avicii was known as Tim Bergling. I will say this, if any of those rumors [about substance abuse] were really true, I feel like I would've seen it. And as much as I've been around him, I never saw anything.
Avicii has been remembered throughout the second weekend of the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California. "It's important that it keeps changing so it doesn't become a fad".
"Wish I could have said that to you in person", she wrote.
"All the other parts of being an artist". "Wake Me Up", a song that lingered on the Hot 100 for more than a year, featured soulful vocals from Aloe Blacc singing about the lessons of youth: "So wake me up when it's all over/When I'm wiser and I'm older/All this time I was finding myself, and I/Didn't know I was lost". House music forerunner Frankie Knuckles and New York party organizer David Mancuso have both died in recent years, but both were considerably older.
Avicii's death puts him nearly in the so-called 27 club - celebrated musicians who have died at age 27 including Cobain, Hendrix, Joplin, Jim Morrison, soul singer Amy Winehouse and Rolling Stone Brian Jones.
"The scene was not for me. From that point, I started mentally not wanting to associate myself with EDM", he told Rolling Stone magazine in September.
